       KCC-NT在专业精神、正直(包括透明度和问责制)、公平、包容、多样性的原则下运营发展,拥有肯尼亚最专业的剧院,所有杰出的肯尼亚戏剧艺术家都成长于此。还有小戏院、切切画廊、舞蹈室、穆古莫庭院等重要设施,为表演、展览和会议提供足够的空间。作为人才发展和对创意经济部门贡献的一部分,KCC-NT 的核心活动有餐后表演项目、舞蹈与杂技项目、炉边星期五节目、艺术家培训计划、艺术比赛、全国创意经济研讨会等。




Brief Introduction of Kenya Cultural Centre Incorporating the Kenya National Theatre(KCC-NT)

 

The Kenya Cultural Centre incorporating the Kenya National Theatre (KCC-NT) is a Semi-Autonomous Government Agency and mandated to provide a Centre for the performance of music, drama and dancing, exhibition of works of art and craft and for the holding of meetings for discussion of matters of literary, historical, scientific or educational interest or importance. KCC-NT is the nation’s oldest state cultural institution and is currently administered under the Ministry of Sports, Culture and Heritage.


KCC-NT is a distinguished International Centre for cultural reference and creative expression that makes huge contribution to the Kenyan economy through its cultural programs. This is achieved through safeguarding, promoting, celebrating and developing culture, arts and creativity through high quality performances and festivals. Its perations, management and services are guided by good governance, including professionalism, uprightness, including transparency and accountability, inclusiveness, diversity and equity.



KCC-NT boasts of largest proscenium stage in Kenya, the Kenya National Theatre. This is the organization’s most visible and valuable asset, it is also nicknamed “the Shrine”. All outstanding Kenyan theatre artists trace their roots from this space. Other facilities include; Ukumbi Mdogo, Cheche Gallery, Dance Studio, Rehearsal spaces as well as outdoor spaces Mugumo Courtyard that provides adequate space for show performance, rehearsal, exhibition and meeting venues.


As part of talent development and contribution to the creative economy sector, KCC-NT has the following as part of its core activities; Performances After Lunch (PAL), a talent spotting and nurturing platform, Ngoma na Sarakasi, Fireside Fridays, Training programmes that cut across all artistic genres, Artistic competitions that keep the theatre vibrant, Nationwide creative economy workshops that equip artists with important knowledge pertaining their IP rights among others.
